George Eastman and Kodak

September 4, 1888 – George Eastman registers the trademark Kodak and receives a patent for his camera that uses roll film.

Pictured here is a 3-cent stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of George Eastman (1854-1932), which was issued in Rochester, New York by the U.S. Postal Service, on July 12, 1954.
