Bram Stoker, 1847 – 1912

November 8, 1847 – Birthdate of Bram Stoker, Anglo-Irish author and critic (d. 1912).

Abraham “Bram” Stoker was best known today for his 1897 Gothic novel, Dracula. During his lifetime, he was better known as the personal assistant of actor Henry Irving and business manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London, which Irving owned.

I am presenting today a set of stamps issued by Irish Post in 2012 commemorating both Stoker and his famous novel, as well as an 1885 postcard showing the front of the Lyceum Theatre.
